Yo! Jail Guard

As long as people have gathered together, some of them have been naughty. The career field of Jail Guard has been around for thousands of years now. Over those years the name we've identified ourselves with has changed. Hacks/Hogs/Pigs/Snouts/Screws/Cops/Bulls/Robocop/

Most recently, during the 70's, our title then became Corrections Officer.
During the 70's was also when the Garbageman become a Sanitation Engineer. Ask anyone but a "Sanitation Engineer" what one is and you'll get a little head scratching before you get an answer. You'll get the same thing with the title of Corrections Officer. The public knows us as Jail Guards. I'm sure someone had the best intentions when they tried to lump us together with law enforcement by including "Officer" in our job title. But our common name is Jail Guard. Love it, hate it, whatever...
