Cell Phones and other electronic communications devices
Due to comments made by the PREA inspectors, removing our cell phones and anything else with the ability to connect to the Internet and thus the "outside" world is scheduled for demolition.
We are our own worst enemy. Have you seen any jail guards walking around with or amongst inmates with a cell phone in hand? Firmly attached to the side of their face? The dumbshit needs to have the phone inserted into their anal cavity until they figure out how to professionally perform their duties with special attention to cell phone usage and Officer safety.
Of course I see this as just another indication of poor management practices.
Apathetic management at its best.
During CPR/AED training tonight an Officer asked about cell phone usage while
using the AED. It was plainly spelled out in the Red Cross literature that it
wasn't supposed to be done and why. And the Instructor had just stated the same
thing. And along comes the dumb ass question of the night. "During emergencies
when we have Officers standing around talking on their cell phones do we really
have to worry about some signal interfering with the machine?"
1. YES YOU FREAKING DUMBSHIT. We are talking about a machine that is trying
to monitor and evaluate the electrical signal of a dying human being. Is it
to much to ask that we give the AED manufacturers and the American Red Cross
the benefit of the doubt that there might exist a possibility that a cell phone
might interfere with the signal causing it's use to be compromised.
2. Using a personal cell phone during an emergency of any kind is absolutely
at the top of the list of stupid things for employees to be doing at work. Especially
knowing that they aren't supposed to be using them anyway.
3. Why do I have to be the person that says something. There was a Captain and
a couple Sergeants, not to mention the Instructor.
